This Week...

So "this week" has ended up being these last 3 weeks but at least I am trying to stick to it. Its not the point that I this is only the second post... And anyway I probably should be doing work, or sleeping.

The Tadpole from Passion Pictures on Vimeo.

A very cute animation about a tadpole. You got to love cute animations that don't really have a point to them. Actually come to think of it, not many of the animations I watch seem to have any point to them...

Another even more pointless animation, but its about Stephen Fry and you gotta love anything to do with him. No, really you do...

Because Its bonkers thats why....

FRANK CHIMERO!!!
You got to love his stuff, and he is a very clever person too. Always awesome. Waiting in healthy anticipation for the book. The videos a bit long and boring, but interesting. Does that make it not boring? Well its Frank Chimero so its not...

And his website is here...  http://www.frankchimero.com/

Bagatelle

Ideas for a comic book cover design. I really don't think that the guy will go with the sheep though. I just got obsessed with sheep... and hills.

This week I found...

A really awesome stop motion with paper cut outs. Different way of doing stop motion to stuff I have seen before, and has a strange, filmed live action quality even though it is not.

Another stop motion, I seem to like those...

Inspirational Artists: Pascal Campion from Onyx Cinema, Inc. on Vimeo.

An interesting little inspirational video about an illustrator talking about his experience with producing illustrations. I found it quite interesting and definitely worth ten minutes of my time.

A publishers who specifically work with illustrators and graphic image people. Just bought two of their books, Hildafolk and the wolfs whistle. Amazing illustrations and quirky little stories. I have not read wolfs whistle yet, but I am once I have posted this.

Cute iphone 4 covers that I would buy, if I had an i phone I would get one.

Hopefully going to do this weekly and share with you what arty fartyness I find around the internet over the week. Hopefully more than one thing a week but hey, it may not happen like that.

ITS ALIVE

Or it is live, that is my website...

louisehubbard.co.uk

Go check it out, had some problems getting it on the server, but now that it is working I am going to celebrate!!! By watching the big bang theory!!! :D

Face Sketching

Just some sketches that I did from the Carlisle Christian Union Week end away. It was fun, although we had to walk 20 minutes to the place from the cars with luggage in the dark while it was snowing and through snow a couple of feet deep up a hill, a very steep hill. I was not happy.

I was already stressed so that really did not help. Grrr.

The Steels - Sing if you're with me

This is The Steels who are a christian music band who have recently went to china with the charity International China Concern, to create this video, but also to help out at the orphanages in china which is the main focus of the charity ICC.
The Steels are a band from Morpeth, which is where I grew up. ICC is a charity which helps set up and run orphanages in china, and my Father works for them so something close to my heart.

Go check out band and Charity

Graphic designer introduction

Introduction from Jean Jullien on Vimeo.

A cute little video of a graphic designer introducing himself, showing all the different kinds of work that he does.
This interested me because of the project that we have been set which is basically design and create a hand held portfolio, a leaflet or a book, to introduce your work to the industry. How do you do that?
huh. Any way. I think looking at this has helped a bit as we have to have personality in the final outcome which this has.
Oh I dont know what I am doing for this...
