Face Sketching

Just some sketches that I did from the Carlisle Christian Union Week end away. It was fun, although we had to walk 20 minutes to the place from the cars with luggage in the dark while it was snowing and through snow a couple of feet deep up a hill, a very steep hill. I was not happy.
I was already stressed so that really did not help. Grrr.

The Steels - Sing if you're with me

This is The Steels who are a christian music band who have recently went to china with the charity International China Concern, to create this video, but also to help out at the orphanages in china which is the main focus of the charity ICC.
The Steels are a band from Morpeth, which is where I grew up. ICC is a charity which helps set up and run orphanages in china, and my Father works for them so something close to my heart.

Go check out band and Charity

Graphic designer introduction

Introduction from Jean Jullien on Vimeo.

A cute little video of a graphic designer introducing himself, showing all the different kinds of work that he does.
This interested me because of the project that we have been set which is basically design and create a hand held portfolio, a leaflet or a book, to introduce your work to the industry. How do you do that?
huh. Any way. I think looking at this has helped a bit as we have to have personality in the final outcome which this has.
Oh I dont know what I am doing for this...

The Edinburgh Fringe

A project to design a leaflet for the Edinburgh Fringe. Learned how to spell Edinburgh, which can't be a bad thing, in this project, it just annoys me because it looks like I have spelt it wrong. Its annoying. A little bit of a harsh contrast with the colours but I wanted to go for something a little out there. I think I got that down okay...

First Project

My, wait secound project...

Well anyway one of my previous projects that I just revamped a bit. Ralph Steadman spread for a book about designers presumably. I have fallen in love with Ralph Steadman now. His illustrations, especially for Alice in Wonderland, are just amazing and lovely and scrumptious. But if you ever get a chance to see his Alice in Wonderland book then definitely have a look, at the least, as it is an amazingly lovely book.

Awesome video. Loving this right now, great animation and an annoying song to go with it!

Absolute Genius!

Patterns

My patterns for the project that is in for tomorrow. Basically the project was to create a catalog of a collection. My collection was going to be of small keys, but oh no, that would not be great. So shells it is. So a catalog of shell patterns it is. I did enjoy making the patterns, it was kinda fun how far I could stretch the meaning of a pattern. So some interesting results.
First of my projects that I have ever uploaded here, aren't you proud? Well, there are two others, that I am planning on working on over the Christmas, so I will upload them when I am done with that. :P

A big, hairy problem

I do not have a dog. Who knows if this is a problem that is scarring this nation. I know my boy friends cats have a serious hair loss problem. Not that they are bald, they just seem to like to make every thing else hairy. And put holes in your favorite top if it decides to claw at you when you are stroking it.

Ancient Gods Paper Toys

All these paper toys do work to some extent, I think a couple of them, at some points, don't work... But for the most part they do. Just print them out on decent enough paper. Cut around the shapes including the tabs, then stick the tabs to corresponding sides. scoring the paper will probably help while folding... Although you might not want to print out these versions, shall find a way to put better quality ones on...

I hate LOL. Seriously. That is one of the most annoying things in the English language. For one, it is not a word to be spoken. If you want to Laugh out loud, then do by all means. But dont say LOL and dont actually laugh. That is silly. You look silly.Second point about LOL. Don't put it next to a sentence, if that sentence is not funny. Such as, 'Your hair is brown. LOL!' Its just not on people.
Not on!
And thirdly, it is not technically a word in the English language. So ha.
That gave me something to type about, LOL.
See. Annoying isn't it.
