Stuff to do over the long summer days...

As I have so much time to myself over the summer, I have decided to make a list of different things that people have asked me to do for them, or just some competitions that should be worth entering. I thought if I was going to make a list, I might as well make one here...

Competitions

• http://www.e4.com/estings/ A competition to make a new E4 "e-sting" a huge amount of prize money up for grabs!
• http://www.cheltenham-illustration-awards.com/ Some thing to do with Trees... And history Im not entirely sure, but I will be doing this over the easter weeks as the final entry date is may.
• http://illustrationfriday.com/ every friday a new topic, so hopefully every week a new illustration. 

Stuff

• My Dad works for a charity http://english.chinaconcern.org/ and in his little office they have some saying type motivational thoughts, and he has asked me to create posters for them, they are; Feed the pig, Eat the strawberry, Say no or not yet and Affirm but not cheesy. I will explain them when I get around to actually making them. 
• I am wanting to redesign my website; louisehubbard.co.uk Beware the lino...
• Find a placement, but still confused about what I am looking for here... Will ask my tutors about it when I see them in a week or two, but until then, lets have a look for local graphic designy studios.
• Im sure there will be more stuff, I will put it up as it comes! 

Dissolution: 5 Ilustrations

These are the final illustration that I have created for the brief to do 5 illustration for my chosen novel, Dissolution. All done in lino with edits and colour added in photoshop. I am happy with how these have come out, so you know, lets hope the tutors think so too.

Dissolution: Lino Prints

For the most recent of my uni project, we have been asked to produce 5 illustrations for a "deluxe collectors addition" of a novel of our choice. I decided to illustrate Dissolution by C J Samson, which is an awesome book, which is basically a murder mystery in the tudor era.

Here are two test lino prints that I have produced just to seed what the effect would be like, and I really like the way they have turned out... Even though they are both a little wrong in some technical ways, like windows generally are no bendy.

Christian Union: Taste Week

This is a leaflet that I designed for the Christian Union of which I am a part. So, not my best bit of design but it will do.

If you go to the University of Cumbria, take note, for the CU is giving away lots of free food for the week beginning on the 21 of March 2011. 

Bikes

Two illustrations of bikes, in the kitchen?!? Well, yea. Dont know if I like them. Im thinking not, right now. But I suppose they will do.

Cool looking letterpress app for the Ipad

Definitely something to keep an eye out for. Looks like it will be awesome, and something rather useful and cool to play with.
